Purpose:

The Senior Commercial Site Manager is responsible overseeing the organisation's sites located across South Africa. The ideal candidate needs to ensure that their team deliver to the required group standard. The candidate is responsible for making sure that buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them. The candidate will also manage any building maintenance to maintain the working environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a high working environment
  • Overseeing the maintenance across all SA sites, ensuring that all SLAs are met.
  • Managing the relationship with the Landlords for all SA properties as well as lease negotiations.
  • Manage Planned Maintenance; and routine or reactive maintenance / security of limited complexity in assigned buildings.
  • Prepare the workload of the facilities assistants
  • Ensure smooth delivery of hard & soft services on all SA sites.
  • Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology etc
  • Managing assigned work of contractors, in accordance with quality and timing including certifying works and payments.
  • Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are well-maintained
  • Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness (acquiring quotes etc)
  • Allocating and managing space between buildings capacity planning
  • Compliance with all statutory, health & safety, security and relevant company policies.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety documentation is kept up to date
  • Overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments
  • Drafting reports and making written safety recommendations
  • Keeping accurate records of all maintenance occurring in the business
  • Coordinate building safety inspections including fire drills
  • Assist to help stabilise emergency situations
  • Maintain incident log and report all accidents and incidents
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with lease and company policies regarding OHSA
  • Coaching and development of the Facilities Team
  • Delivery is the ISO: 14001 and 45001 standards

Qualifications and experience:

  • Matric
  • Safety management
  • At least 5 years experience managing multiple sites
  • The ability to communicate with staff, clients, visitors to the business and service providers
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to manage time effectively and to prioritise tasks
  • Attention to detail in monitoring building maintenance
  • A responsible attitude and leads by example
  • Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills
  • Integrity and trustworthy when dealing with clients, colleagues and service providers
  • Takes ownership for resolving issues and seeks assistance when needed
  • Works accurately with attention to detail
  • Hands-on, able to work within a fast-paced business and driven by change
