Purpose:

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and growing the Blowpack Sales budget.

Duties and responsibilities:

Business Growth and Sales Budget:

  • Sourcing of new business in defined market segments as set out from time-to-time
  • Identifying and exploiting new market opportunities and products
  • Managing sales effectively, ensuring that sales budgets are beaten
  • Monitoring competitor activity proactively

Customer Service:

  • Interfacing with Production and Planning and Design departments for benefit of Key Accounts
  • Developing effective relationships with new and current Key Account Customers
  • Ensuring all customer requirements and complaints are communicated appropriately and dealt with timeously

Pricing and Margin Movement:

  • Manage gross margins in line with set company goals as defined
  • Presenting professional price proposals in writing to all customers

General Administration:

  • Weekly and monthly sales and related reporting
  • Communicating regularly with Manager regarding status of sales, customer relations, market developments etc
  • Ensuring that absolute stock, open orders, etc is managed effectively within company policies

Qualifications and experience:

  • Have at least 3-5 years sales experience (with at least 3 doing hard sales hunting new business)
  • Be in possession of a degree that is appropriate for sales and new business growth
  • Sales experience in Manufacturing essential
  • An understanding of the plastics/packaging industry would be advantageous
  • Computer Literacy (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT)
  • Have a proven track record in securing new sales
    • An ability to see opportunities and grasp them
