About the job Maintenance Supervisor
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven track record of working in a FMCG environment.
- Good understanding of maintenance systems
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities
- Strong leadership capabilities and ability to manage people with diverse backgrounds.
- Sound IR knowledge
- Proven Computer literacy in MS Office/ SAP
- Ability to perform under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile, manage and control maintenance budget
- Assist with compiling short and long term equipment replacement plan.
- Approve cost estimates and capital proposals
- Manage abnormal and capex projects
- Ensure adherence to Procurement procedure
- Ensure compliance to the QMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC, IFS, HACCP, Organic, ISO 17025, SANS 1841, ISO 45000, WALMART, WIETA, BRCI)
- Ensure crew complies and adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, work instruction and SOPs at all times
- Accept the role of Food defense team member
- Accept the role of Environmental team member
- Act as Core Team Member of the Food Safety Team of the Site.
- Walk and verify the HACCP Flow and Plans with the Team
- Represent your department and function on the team and arrange stand-in when not available or on leave / training.
- Inform Team Leader and Team Members of changes in your work environment that could be triggers.
- Take part and give input in all discussions around rules making and guidelines.
- Take part in risk evaluation sessions – triggers as per CQM 029.
- Be available to attend awareness and training sessions around HACCP & CCP updates.
- Ensure compliance to OHSACT and all Distell Risk, Health and Safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Ensure that unsafe conditions are reported and rectified.
- Lead team according to Secondary Production Operating Principles to achieve line objectives – Quality; Speed and Cost.
- Ensure sound employee relations, corrective and grievance procedures are effectively managed in department.
- Performance management is applied effectively.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of resources in the department.
- Ensure training and coaching in department takes place
- Ensure culture of continuous improvement is developed and maintained at all levels
- Support and encourage the values of the company
