About the job IT Project Manager
The information technology (IT) Project Manager is responsible to plan, initiate, and manage IT projects. The IT Project Manager will be responsible to plan, organise, and integrate cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact. They will lead and guide the work of IT team members on projects, serve as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. The role will take full accountability to plan projects, initiate each stage of the project, assess business implications, and monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage information technology projects or system activities based on a needs analysis and the IT strategy
- Develop detailed project plans, including goals and plans to meet those goals
- Develop guidelines for system implementation, including a project team and schedules with individual responsibilities
- Manage and maintain project timeframes, budgets for appropriate resource allocation and status reports
- Identify information technology project resource requirements
- Utilise project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence
- Prepare analytical reports and analyse data to identify trends or relationships among variables
- Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues
- Develop information communication procedures
- Conduct risk assessments for projects
- Organise meetings to discuss project goals and progress
Education and experience:
- Degree in IT or equivalent
- Knowledge of IT and project management principles
- Professional qualification in project management would be an advantage.
- 3 - 5 years’ work experience in an IT project management role
