BIM Manager
Job Title: BIM MEP Manager
Reports to: COO
Job Description Summary
The BIM Manager is responsible for planning and executing assigned BIM projects profitably by meeting the allocated time, resources, and budget objectives - he/she may lead technical resources within one or multiple disciplines (MEP & infrastructure) for the duration of a project and ensures BIM standards comply with the contract terms.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare BIM documentation & Guidelines for project-specific requirements.
- Implement BIM technologies on large-scale construction projects using BIM models.
- Lead a sub-team of technical resources to execute and deliver BIM projects.
- Train of project personnel in the use of BIM tools & technologies.
- Identify and implement best practices and standards to optimize BIM project delivery.
- Provide leadership and direction to assigned project resources (BIM Engineers/Architects/, BIM Coordinators, Junior BIM Engineers/Architects)
- Allocate and dispatch daily tasks for assigned project (roles, and responsibilities).
- Promote the companys values and reward employees demonstrating supportive behaviors.
- Plan and coordinate project setup, resources allocation, project milestones and budgets.
- Assist project teams with review / approval of RFI (Request for Information).
- Meet & coordinate with Clients, Sub-Contractors or 3rd party service providers to resolve design issues.
Perform corrective actions to meet project deadlines and profitability objectives.
- Develop project-specific BIM documents, standards, and QA/QC.
- Supervise project BIM model backups, documentation & submittals.
- Lead weekly project update meetings with allocated resources.
- Administer & monitor all activities taking place on the CDE.
- Coordinate with the engineering Managers, project directors and discipline engineers to maintain timely deliverables
- Develop & implement BIM workflow/ processes.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferable.
- Minimum 6 years (including supervisory skills) BIM project experience Project Architect/Engineer, Project Manager or equivalent. Should also have had extensive exposure to a construction site office environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes, and systems.
- Must be able to demonstrate an advanced working knowledge and experience with the following software applications - Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Autodesk Civil 3D, Excel, MS Project and MS Word etc.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
- Ability to use judgment, problem‐solving ability, self‐starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.
- Experience in IFC open building standards to facilitate interoperability and data exchange between different software applications
- Experience with Scan to BIM processes, which involve converting point cloud data from laser scans into accurate BIM models, is an added advantage.
