Senior Consultant of Neurology

The Senior Consultant will be mainly involved in the care of the neurological patients in the ward, but they will also be called to contribute to the work in the STROKE beds and in the OPD Clinics. The Senior Consultant autonomously prescribes diagnostic test and therapies; he/she reports daily to the Head of Internal Medicine Unit about the most recent or serious cases in the sub-unit/ward. The Senior Consultant will attend periodic meetings with the Head of Unit, internists, cardiologists, neurosurgeons and anesthetists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients belonging to the Unit. The Senior Consultant will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills. Finally, he/she will apply all the procedure to minimize the risk of infections in accordance with Infection Prevention and Control Service and Quality & Safety Department.

Education:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Neurology
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council

Experience:

• Minimum of nine (9) years of work experience in Neurology
• Has scientific research titles in Neurology or related sectors

• Excellent communication, problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Must be concern with ethics and integrity
