Medical Officer of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit

The Medical Officer of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit will be involved in the care of the patients within the Ward, but also in the OPD Clinics belonging to the Unit. They will perform the guard shift within the Unit but also within the Department.  They will conduct physical examinations, take patient medical histories and interpret the results of diagnostic tests. They will perform surgical procedure under supervision of a Specialist in progressive autonomy. They will also cooperate to coordinate patient care with other specialists within ISHU. Participation in research activities and health data collection will be mandatory.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• Can be a general practitioner, can be recently specialized or still attending the M.Med. in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery or equivalent
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Has less than 3 years of Hospital activity and experience in a general, regional referral or national referral hospital
