Nurse Supervisor - Ward Manager of Obstetrics & Gynecology

The Nurse Supervisor Ward Manager of Obstetrics & Gynecology is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee and manage the nursing care provided in the Post Natal Ward, Nursery and Gynecology. Has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of Mothers and newborn babies, for gynecological patients, and operation of the unit, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers, Nursing Officers and Midwives.  Plans, directs and coordinates Post-Natal Care for both mother and newborn baby. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staffs work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the ward and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.

Education and Experience profile:

• B.Sc. Degree in either Nursing, Midwifery or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution 
• Possession of a Diploma in a specialized field will be of added advantage 
• Must be registred with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
• Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management preferred
• Minimum eight (8) years as Registered Nurse 
• At least two (2) years as Nursing Officer in Obs&Gyn
