About the job Medical Physicist

The Medical Physicist in the Nuclear Medicine and Imaging Departments will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and quality of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position involves planning, calibrating, and monitoring imaging equipment and radioactive sources, contributing to advanced imaging diagnostics, and providing essential support to radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and radiation technologists. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with international and Ugandan radiation safety standards, participate in research, and foster the implementation of state-of-the-art medical imaging and nuclear techniques to support the hospitals mission of delivering specialized healthcare in Uganda.

Education and Experience profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physics or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution.
  • M.Sc. degree in Medical Physics .
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Medical Physicist in nuclear medicine and imaging departments, preferably in an advanced clinical or academic setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of radiological physics, radiation safety regulations, and medical imaging technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in dosimetry, quality assurance, and radiation protection in nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging.
