About the job Head of Radiotherapy Unit
The Head of the Radiotherapy Unit will lead and manage all aspects of radiotherapy services, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency in patient care. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining advanced radiotherapy protocols, including stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), and brachytherapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing treatment strategies, driving innovation within the unit, and ensuring the integration of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. This leader will collaborate closely with oncologists, radiologists, physicists, and allied health staff, creating a cohesive multidisciplinary approach to cancer care while optimizing resource use and adhering to strict regulatory standards.
Education and experience profile:
- A MBChB. or its equivalent from a recognized University
- A M.Med. degree in Radiation Oncology or Radiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- Shall be practicing Radiotherapy.
- Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Radiotherapy
