The Specialist Medical Officer of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit will be involved in the care of the patients within the ward. They will autonomously perform the guard shift and take part to the work shift in the OPD Clinics belonging to the Unit. The Specialist autonomously performs minor surgical procedures and gradually take part to medium and complex surgical procedures under the supervision of the Consultant. They report daily to the Consultants about the most recent or serious cases and procedures in the ward. The Specialist can also attend periodic meetings with the Consultants, oncologists, gynecologists, radiologists, other surgeons, anesthetists and other specialists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients belonging to the Unit, and they cooperate with them in the raining and evaluation of the Medical Officers.

Education and Experience profile:

  • A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • A M.Med. /Fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive (or its equivalent)
  • Must meet the requirement for registration of the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners
  • Minimum of sixthree (3) years of work experience in any area related to Plastic & Reconstructive
