Medical Officer of Neurosurgery

The Medical Officer of Neurosurgery Unit will be involved in the care of the patients within the Neurosurgery Ward, and all the OPD Clinics belonging to the Neurosurgery Unit. They will perform the guard shift with the cooperation of a Consultant on-call. They will conduct physical examinations, take patient medical histories and interpret the results of diagnostic tests. They will also cooperate to coordinate patient care with other specialists within ISHU. Participation in research activities and health data collection will be mandatory.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• Can be a General Practitioner, can be recently specialized or still attending the M.Med. in Neurosurgery
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Has less than 3 years of working experience in a general, regional referral or national referral hospital.
