Consultant of Neurology

The Consultant will be mainly involved in the care of the patients within the General Neurology activities, but they will also be called to contribute to the work shift in the OPD Clinics. The Consultant autonomously prescribes diagnostic test and therapies; he/she reports daily to the Chief of Unit about the most recent or serious cases in the sub-unit/ward. The Consultant will attend periodic meetings with the Head of Internal Medicine, internists, cardiologists, neurosurgeons and anesthetists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients belonging to the Unit.

The Consultant will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills. Finally, he/she will apply all the procedure to minimize the risk of infections in accordance with Infection Prevention and Control Service and Quality & Safety Department.

Education:

• MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• M.Med. in Internal Medicine; Fellowship in Neurology (or equivalent qualification)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
  

Experience:

• Minimum of nine (9) years of total work experience 
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Neurology
• Scientific research titles in Neurology or related sectors will be an asset.
