About the job Head of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit
The Head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit will lead a highly skilled medical team, guiding a comprehensive clinical program that includes advanced surgical procedures, consultation services for inpatients, collaborations with other healthcare facilities in Uganda and internationally, and outpatient clinics. The role demands exceptional clinical expertise and teaching skills, along with a strategic vision to shape the future of the Unit amid a rapidly evolving medical landscape.
The Head of Unit will play a key role in advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, fostering a culture of excellence in patient care, and supporting the professional development of team members. Additionally, the position will involve close collaboration with the Infection Control Unit and Quality Department to develop and implement protocols that minimize infection risks, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Education and Experience profile:
- A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
- A M.Med. in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (or equivalent)
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in maxillofacial or Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
