About the job Head of Radiology Unit
The Head of Radiology Unit provides administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership for the radiology programs to ensure achievement of the clinical, research, and education goals and applicable performance measures. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate radiology interpretations by all subordinate radiologists as well as the oversight of all procedural based exams conducted by same. This responsibility involves the administration, management, and leadership of the entire Radiology area which includes conventional X-ray, CT, MRI, US, and Interventional Radiology. The incumbent participates in top level decision and policy design that impacts on Radiology through collaboration with the Director of Department and the CMO. The Head of Radiology directs Radiology programs, delegating authority and responsibility to meet quality goals.
Education and Experience profile:
- A MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
- A Master of Medicine (M.Med) degree in Radiology or its equivalent
- Additional training and certification in Radiology either as Fellow of Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or American Board of Radiology (ABR) will be an asset
- Practice in multiple disciplines of radiology including conventional body & Computerized Imaging, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Fluoroscopy and special radiological procedures
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Radiology
