Consultant of Neurosurgery

Consultant of Neurosurgery Unit will be a part of an experienced Medical team, overseeing a comprehensive clinical neurosurgical program involving consultation services for inpatients and other health facilities in Uganda and abroad, outpatient clinics. Consultant of Neurosurgery Unit will report daily to the Head of Unit about the most recent or serious cases in the ward. Consultant of Neurosurgery Unit will attend periodic meetings with the Head of Unit, Neurologists, Physiotherapists and Anesthetists to evaluate which medical and surgical procedures to adopt for the various patients, and their rehabilitation after operations. The Consultant of Neurosurgery Unit will help the Head of Unit to cooperate with the Infection Control Unit and Quality Department to prepare suitable procedures to minimize the risk of infections in the Unit and to ensure the correct application of the same.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med./PhD in Neurosurgery (or equivalent)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Neurosurgery
