Dispenser

The Dispenser in a specialized hospital setting is responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing medications to patients in collaboration with pharmacists and healthcare providers. This role involves verifying prescriptions, ensuring medication safety, educating patients on proper medication use, and assisting with inventory management. 

The duties of the Dispenser are to dispense and advise patients on proper use and storage of medicines.Specific responsibilities of the Dispenser will be:

• Dispensing medicine to patients
• Medicines given to patients registered
• Advice to various stakeholders tendered
• Requisitions for medicines and health supplies made
• Assistance in the preparation of quality compounded
• Expired and damaged medicines reported
• Reports compiled and submitted.

The Dispenser plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by providing timely and accurate pharmaceutical services in a specialized clinical environment.

Education and Experience profile:

• Must have a Diploma in Pharmacy or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Must meet the requirements to be registered and licensed with the pertaining Ugandan Professionals Council.
• Demonstrated professional experience of at least three (3) years in the Ugandan Healthcare System.
