Head of Cardiology Unit

The Head of Cardiology Unit will lead an experienced team, overseeing a comprehensive clinical cardiology program involving consultation services for inpatients and other health facilities in Uganda and abroad, outpatient clinics, cardiological rehabilitation. The Head of Cardiology Unit will promote periodic meetings with cardiac surgeons and anesthetists to evaluate which procedures to adopt for the various patients belonging to their Unit. The Head of unit will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills and will have a strategic vision for the role of the Cardiology Unit in a rapidly changing medical landscape. Finally, the Head of Unit will cooperate with the Infection Control Unit and Quality Department to prepare suitable procedures to minimize the risk of infections in the Unit and to ensure the correct application of the same.

Education:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. /PhD in Cardiology
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council

• Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Cardiology

• Has previous documented activities as team leaders in health sectors
• Has previous documented management experience in healthcare facilities
• Scientific research titles in Cardiology or related sectors will be an asset
