About the job Nurse Supervisor – Ward Manager (Senior Nursing Officer) of CCU
The Nurse Supervisor – Ward Manager of CCU is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the Coronary Care Unit, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. Plans, directs and coordinates General Coronary Care Unit health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staff’s work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the General Coronary Care Unit and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Education and Experience profile:
- B.Sc. degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University essential
- Registered with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
- Post Basic Diploma in Cardiology / Critical Care preferred
- Minimum 8 years as Registered Nurse in Intensive Care/ Cardiology wards
- At least 2 years as Nursing Officer in Intensive Care/ Cardiology
