The Nurse Supervisor – Ward Manager of Infectious Diseases Ward is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the Infectious Disease Ward, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. Plans, directs and coordinates medical health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staff’s work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Infectious Diseases Department and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.


Education and Experience profile:

  • B.Sc. degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University essential
  • Must be registered with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
  • Post Basic Diploma preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in In-Patient wards
  • At least 2 years as Senior Nursing Officer in Infectious Disease Ward
