About the job Nurse Supervisor Ward Manager of ICUs
The Nurse Supervisor Ward Manager of ICUs area is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the Intensive Care Unit (adult and pediatric) and in anesthesiology area, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. Plans, directs and coordinates Intensive Care and anesthesiology health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staffs work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the ICUs Unit and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Education and Experience profile:
- B.Sc. Degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University essential
- Registered with the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
- Post Basic Diploma preferred in Critical Care essential
- Minimum five (5) years as Registered Nurse in In-Patient wards
- At least two (2) years as Nursing Officer in Critical Care
