Medical Social Worker

The job purpose of the Medical Social Worker within the Psychiatry & Mental Health Support Unit is to support the hospital management in providing Social and Welfare services to patients and staff of the hospital. They will deal both with children and adults and will cooperate with other specialistic roles such as psychologist/counselor, occupational therapist and physicians. They will be involved in the care of both outpatient and inpatient. The Social Worker will attend periodic meetings with the Chief of Unit and other clinical staff belonging to the Unit or to other Units.

Education and Experience profile:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA) or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Allied Health Professionals Council.
