About the job Medical Officer of ENT Unit

The Medical Officers of ENT Unit will be mainly involved in the care of the patients admitted in the ward; they will be involved in the ENT activities, including OPD Ambulatories and all surgical screening and evaluating procedures for in- and out-patients. The Medical Officer prescribes diagnostic test and therapies and performs advances surgical procedures under the supervision of the Consultant; he/she reports daily to the Consultant about the most recent or serious cases in the sub-unit/ward. The Medical Officer will attend periodic meetings with the Head of Unit, the Consultant and anesthetists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients. The Medical Officer of ENT Unit will always respect and follow all the procedure to minimize the risk of infections in accordance with Infection Prevention and Control Service and Quality & Safety Department.


Education and Experience profile:

  • A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • Can be a General Practitioner, can be recently specialized or still attending the M.Med./PhD in in ENT (or equivalent)
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
  • Demonstrated professional experience of at least one (1) year in the Ugandan Healthcare System.
