About the job Specialist Medical Officer of Nuclear Medicine
The Specialist Medical Officer in Nuclear Medicine is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating diseases using radioactive substances and imaging techniques. This role includes interpreting nuclear medicine imaging, ensuring the safe handling and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. The Specialist Medical Officer will also play a role in training junior doctors, overseeing research activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Education and Experience profile:
- Medical Degree (MD) or equivalent with a speciality (M.Med) in Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, or a related field.
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in nuclear medicine, with expertise in PET, SPECT, and hybrid imaging techniques.
