About the job Director of Nursing
The Director of Nursing (DoN) at the International Specialized Hospital of Uganda (ISHU) provides strategic and operational leadership for nursing and patient care services, ensuring high standards of patient care, nursing practice, and staff performance. This role involves overseeing clinical nursing practices, improving patient outcomes, managing budgets, implementing policies in line with hospital goals, and maintaining compliance with international standards, such as Joint Commission International (JCI). The DoN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient-centered care and support the organizations mission to deliver high-quality healthcare to diverse populations.
Education:
- Post-Graduate Qualification (Diploma or Masters) in Administration, Management, Hospital Management or the equivalent from a recognized Institution/University.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from a recognized University or Institution.
- Must be registered or meet the requirement for registration to the Ugandan Nurses and Midwives Council.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in nursing.
- A proven track record of minimum three (3) years of experience in a nursing leadership role in international recognized hospitals.
- A proven experience in developing country will be an asset.
