About the job IPC Specialist (Medical Officer)

The IPC Specialist (Medical Officer) is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control programs to protect patients, staff, and visitors from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). This role involves conducting risk assessments, overseeing IPC practices, educating staff on best practices, and ensuring compliance with IPC standards. As a key member of the hospitals IPC Committee, the IPC Specialist collaborates closely with clinical and administrative teams to reduce infection risks, promote safety, and contribute to quality improvement in patient care.

Education and Experience profile:

  • Medical Degree (MBBS, MD) or equivalent, with additional training or certification in Infection Control, Public Health, or Epidemiology preferred.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clinical medicine, with at least 1-2 years specializing in infection control or hospital epidemiology.
