The Specialist Medical Officer in Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Laboratory is a clinical and diagnostic expert responsible for supporting the unit's pathological and forensic services. This role involves conducting detailed analyses of tissue, organ, and bodily fluid samples to aid in diagnosis, treatment planning, and forensic investigations. Working under the supervision of the Head of Unit, the Specialist Medical Officer plays a key role in the timely and accurate analysis of pathological and forensic cases. This position requires a high level of precision, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to producing reliable results that support both clinical care and medico-legal requirements.

Education and Experience profile:

  • Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) with specialization (M.Med or M.Sc) or advanced training in Anatomical Pathology or Forensic Medicine.
  • Registration and licensure with the Ugandan Medical Council
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in anatomical pathology or forensic medicine, with exposure to forensic and autopsy cases.
