Senior Consultant of Cardiovascular Surgery

The Senior Consultant (SC) of Cardiovascular Surgery will be involved in the care and treatment of the patients within the field of competence. The SC autonomously performs advanced surgical procedures; they report daily to the Head of Unit about the most recent or serious cases and procedures in the unit. The SC will attend periodic meetings with cardiologist, other surgeons, anesthetists and other specialists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients belonging to the ward. The SC will apply all the procedure to minimize the risk of infections in accordance with Infection Prevention and Control Service and Quality & Safety Department.

Education:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Cardiac Surgery (or their equivalent)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council

Experience:

• Minimum of nine (9) years of work experience in Cardiac Surgery or related field in a general, regional referral or national referral hospital.
