Senior Consultant of Emergency Medicine

The Senior Consultant in the Emergency Room (ER) is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions. This role involves leading the clinical team, coordinating patient management, supervising junior medical staff, and driving improvements in patient safety and quality of care. The Senior Consultant is expected to be a key member of the ER leadership team, contributing to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, training programs, and departmental policies.

Education and Experience:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Emergency Medicine (or Equivalent)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council

• Minimum of nine (9) years of work experience in Emergency Room, of which at least 3 as Senior Consultant
• Experience working in a tertiary hospital or busy emergency setting is preferred.
• Advanced life support certifications (e.g., ATLS, ACLS, PALS) are mandatory
