The Nurse Supervisor – Coordinator of Ambulance Service is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided within the Ambulance Service, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers.
Plans, directs and coordinates Ambulance Service nursing services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staff’s work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Ambulance Service and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Education and Experience profile:
- B.Sc. Degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University essential
- Must be registred with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
- Post Basic Diploma in Emergency / Critical Care preferred
- Minimum eight (8) years as Registered Nurse in In-Patient wards
- At least two (2) years as Nursing Officer in Emergency Department
- Experience with Ambulance Service will be preferred.
