Nurse Supervisor - Ward Manager (Senior Nursing Officer) of Operating Theatres & CSSD

The Nurse Supervisor - Ward Manager of Operating Theatres (OTs) & CSSD is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the OT, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. She/He is also coresponsible, with the HN of surgical area, of the running of CSSD area. Plans, directs and coordinates surgical and health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staffs work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the OTs and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.

Education and Experience profile:

• B.Sc. degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution / University is essential
• Must be registered with Uganda Nursing and Midwifery Council or meeting the requirements for the registration
• Post Degree Diploma preferred
• At least five (5) years of hospital experience as a registered nurse
