Occupational Therapist

The job purpose of the Occupational Therapist within the Psychiatry & Mental Health Support Unit is to facilitate person with disabilities trough counseling and special activities for gainful occupation and self-reliance. They will mostly deal with adults, but even with disable children, in collaboration with other specialistic clinical staff such as physiotherapists, speech and language therapist and audiologist. They will be involved in the care of both outpatient and inpatient. The Therapist will attend periodic meetings with the Chief of Unit and other clinical staff belonging to the Unit or to other Units to evaluate which procedures and care perform for the different patients referring to the Unit.

Education and Experience profile:

• Diploma in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Allied Health Professionals Council.
