Consultant of Pediatric Onco-Hematology

The Consultant of Pediatric Oncology will be mainly involved in the care of the pediatric patients within the field of competence. They will autonomously perform guard shift and take part to the work shift in the OPD Clinics belonging to the Pediatric Unit. The desired Consultant shall be a blend of technical skills and positive personal attributes. They must be skilled in conducting physical examinations of the kids, taking patient medical histories and interpreting the results of diagnostic tests. They will also coordinate patient care with other specialists within ISHU. The Consultant must be skilled at solving problems, communicating with others and making decisions quickly. Furthermore, compassion, respect and integrity are just some of the personal attributes required.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Pediatrics; A fellowship in Pediatric Oncology (or its equivalent)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Minimum of nine (9) years of total work experience 
• Work experience in Pediatrics Oncology/Onco-hematology
