About the job Consultant of Urogynecology
The Consultant of Urogynecology will be mainly involved in the care and treatment of the patients within the field of competence, but they will also be called to contribute to the ward guard shift and take part to the work shift in the OPD Clinics belonging to the Unit. The Consultant autonomously performs advanced surgical procedures; they will report daily to the Chief of Sub-Unit about the most recent or serious cases and can also attend periodic meetings with the oncologists, radiologists, gynecologists, other surgeons and anesthetists to evaluate which medical and surgical procedures to adopt for the various patients. They will help the Chief of Unit to cooperate with the Infection Control Unit and Quality Department to prepare suitable procedures to minimize the risk of infections in the Unit and to ensure the correct application of the same.
Education and Experience profile:
- A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
- A M.Med. in Urology (or equivalent)
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- Minimum of nine (9) years of work experience in Urology, with evidence of competency in urogynecology
