About the job Psychologist

The job holder is responsible for providing psychosocial counseling and support services, providing professional and confidential services to target patients, children at risk and the elderly peoples, people with various challenges, establish case follow ups even through conducting home visits to referred families, plan and implement the delivery of counseling services in a non-discriminatory manner in line with ISHU guidelines. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the Chief of the Unit, and the overall supervision of the Director of Department or their designate and could even cooperate with the Occupational health & Safety Officer (OHS) to provide the psychological services related to Staff’s well-being.


Education and Experience profile:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Community Psychology or Counseling or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution
  • Holding a M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology, a PG Diploma in Counselling or a PhD in Counselling will be of advantage
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Allied Health Professionals Council
