About the job Assistant Nursing Officer of Oncology & Onco-Haematology
The Assistant Nursing Officer Onco-Hematology Unit is a key member of the hospital clinical team. He / She works as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, competent, individualized patient centered holistic care to an optimum level by utilizing nursing process. The oncology nurse is a highly specialized and sensitive role who delivers care to those adult and paediatric patients who are receiving cancer treatment. Specific responsibilities include preparing patients for chemotherapy, administering palliative treatment, and collaborating with other members of the health care team.
Education and Experience profile
- Diploma in General Nursing or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
- At least three (3) years of experience in big hospitals (at least RRH or private facilities), in Uganda or abroad.
