About the job Speech and Language Therapist (SLT)

The Speech and Language Therapist will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team of the Unit to provide a speech and language therapy service to adults and children with communication, cognitive and swallowing problems. They will offer rehabilitation in outpatient and inpatient setting to the Hospital’s clients, providing intervention on an individual or group basis as required. The Therapist will also provide a highly specialist service to patients who have communication and swallowing problems as a result acquired brain injury, providing also advice to patients, their families and relevant staff on the management of dysphagia.


Education and Experience profile:

  • A Bachelor‘s degree course in Speech and Language Therapy or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Allied Health Professionals Council.
