Nursing Officer of Emergency Medicine (EM)

The Nursing Officer for Emergency Medicine is a key member of the hospital clinical team. He / She delivers safe, competent, individualized patient centered holistic care to an optimum level, by utilizing nursing process. Assists in the management of the Emergency Room during the assigned shift for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units. Plans, directs and coordinates medical, surgical and health services, sets and carries out policies, goals and procedures for the department; evaluates the quality of the staffs work and develops reports and budgets. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Emergency Room and associated areas are met resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as the Acting Nurse Supervisor during their absence.

Education and Experience profile:

• B.Sc. Degree in Nursing essential
• Registered with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
• Post Graduate Diploma in Trauma and Emergency will be an asset
