The Technologist of Nuclear Medicine performs technical nuclear medicine examinations within the section. The incumbent works performing routine, complex and specialized nuclear medicine procedures under the general supervision of Nuclear Medicine Specialists. The Technologist of Nuclear Medicine must be able to use a wide variety of nuclear medicine equipment and computers. The incumbent must be able to provide basic maintenance and repairs, participate in QA/QC and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system (PACS). The Technologist of Nuclear Medicine monitors equipment and provides basic maintenance as required. They demonstrate mastery of all clinical or hospital-level competencies and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice. The incumbent combines clinical staffing assignments with the various team lead roles and responsibilities. The incumbent may also be removed from staffing assignments to perform assigned duties as necessary.


Education and Experience profile:

  • ABachelor's degree in Medical Imaging Science or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Any additional training and certification in nuclear medicine will be of advantage.
  • Demonstrated professional experience of at least one (1) year in the Ugandan Healthcare System.
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration) at the AHP council.
