About the job Head of Onco-Hematology Unit

The position of the Head of Onco-hematology is the physician leader responsible for the Onco-Hematology, non-oncological hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant service in ISHU. The overaching goals of the unit are to ensure outstanding patient care and access to high quality clinical trials. The Head will provide programmatic, financial and administrative oversight to the ISHU onco-hematology service line. The Head of Unit will work with departmental and hospital leaders throughout the clinical enterprise to provide multi-disciplinary clinical care, as well as interact with leaders of basic and clinical research to advance the mission of ISHU.


Education and Experience profile:

  • A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • A M.Med./Fellowship in Hematology or Oncology
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
  • Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Hematology or Oncology, of which at least two (2) as Senior Consultant
  • Has previous documented activities as team leaders in health sectors
  • Has previous documented management experience in healthcare facilities
  • Has scientific research titles in Hematology or Oncology or related sectors.
