About the job Consultant of Anatomo-Pathology
The Consultant in Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Laboratory is a senior medical expert responsible for providing advanced diagnostic and forensic services. This role includes conducting complex pathological analyses, forensic postmortems, biopsies, and evidence-based evaluations to aid in clinical diagnoses and medico-legal investigations. The Consultant collaborates closely with healthcare providers, law enforcement, and the judiciary, providing expert advice and testimony in court cases as needed. They are also responsible for guiding medical teams, training junior staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position is critical in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and legal reliability of the forensic and diagnostic services within the hospital.
Education and Experience Profile:
- A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University.
- A M.Med. in Forensic Pathology or Pathology (or equivalent).
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
- Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Forensic Pathology or Pathology or equivalent.
