Senior Consultant of General Cardiology

The Senior Consultant is responsible of the General Cardiology and OPD Clinics belonging to Cardiology Unit. He/she autonomously performs ward rounds and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; he/she directs and plans the work shifts within the OPD clinics belonging to Cardiology Unit. The Senior Consultant reports daily to the Head of Unit about the most recent or serious cases in the ward. The Senior Consultant will attend periodic meetings with the Head of Cardiology Unit, cardiac surgeons and anesthetists to evaluate which procedures to adopt for the various patients belonging to the Unit.

The Senior Consultant will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills. Finally, he/she will apply all the procedure to minimize the risk of infections in accordance with Infection Prevention and Control Service and Quality & Safety Department.

Education:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Cardiology or equivalent
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council

• Minimum of nine (9) years of work experience in Cardiology
• Has scientific research titles in Cardiology or related sectors
