Medical Officer of Internal Medicine

The Medical Officer of Internal Medicine Unit will be involved in the care of the patients within the General Medicine Unit, and all the OPD Clinics belonging to the Internal Medicine Unit. They will perform the guard shift under the supervision of a Specialist Medical Officer. They will conduct physical examinations, take patient medical histories and interpret the results of diagnostic tests. They will also cooperate to coordinate patient care with other specialists within ISHU. Participation in research activities and health data collection will be mandatory.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University.
• Can be a general practitioner, can be recently specialized or still attending the M.Med. in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pulmonology or Gastroenterology or equivalent.
• Must meet the requirement for registration of the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners.
• Has experience in a general, regional referral or national referral hospital, in Internal Medicine or equivalent.
