About the job Specialist Medical Officer of Urology Unit

The Specialist Medical Officers of Urology Unit will be involved in the care of the patients within the all the Sub-Units. They will autonomously perform the guard shift and take part to the work shift in the OPD Clinics belonging to the Unit. The Specialist autonomously performs surgical procedures; they report daily to the Consultants about the most recent or serious cases and procedures in the ward. The Specialist can also attend periodic meetings with the Consultants, oncologists, gynecologists, radiologists, other surgeons, anesthetists and other specialists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients belonging to the Unit, and they cooperate with them in the raining and evaluation of the Medical Officers.

Education and Experience profile:

  • A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • A M.Med. in Urology (or its equivalent)
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in any area related to Urology
