About the job Nurse Supervisor - Ward Manager (Senior Nursing Officer) of Surgical Ward
The Nurse Supervisor of Surgical Wards is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the wards, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. Plans, directs and coordinates surgical and health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staffs work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the surgical wards and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Education and Experience profile:
- B.Sc. Degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution / University is essential
- Must be registered with Uganda Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Post Basic Diploma preferred
- At least five (5) years of hospital experience as a registered nurse.
