About the job Nursing Officer of Oncology & Onco-haematology
The Nursing Officer is a key member of the hospital clinical team. He / She delivers safe, competent, individualized patient centered holistic care to an optimum level, by utilizing nursing process. Assists in the management of the Oncology-Haematology Unit, including the Chemotherapy area, during the assigned shift for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units. Assists in the planning and coordination of the cancer health services, sets and carries out policies, goals and procedures for the department; evaluates the quality of the staffs work and develops reports and budgets. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Oncology/Haematology Unit and associated areas are met resulting in excellent patient care. Serves as the Acting Nurse Supervisor during their absence. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Education and Experience profile:
- B.Sc. degree in nursing from a recognized institute or university or equivalent.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Oncology or Chemotherapy is an asset
- Must have registered with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council.
