The Pharmacist at the International Specialized Hospital of Uganda plays a key role in ensuring high standards of patient-centered pharmaceutical care within a specialized healthcare setting. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including medication management, patient education, inventory control, and adherence to safety protocols. As a pharmacist in a state-of-the-art facility focused on advanced and specialized medical services, the individual will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide optimal medication therapies, improve patient outcomes, and uphold strict compliance with both national and international standards. In addition to dispensing and compounding medications, the pharmacist is expected to assess medication efficacy, support clinical decision-making, and provide patient education to ensure safe and effective medication use. This role requires strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of pharmacology and drug interactions, and a commitment to continuous learning to stay updated with the latest in pharmaceutical science.

Education and Experience profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or its equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Must be registered or meet the requirement for registration to the Ugandan Pharmacists Council.
  • Demonstrated professional experience of at least three (3) years in the Ugandan Healthcare System will be an advantage.
