The Medical Officer of Nuclear Medicine supports the diagnostic and treatment processes within the nuclear medicine department by obtaining comprehensive medical histories, preparing patients for imaging procedures, and assisting in the interpretation of imaging results under the supervision of the Specialist Medical Officer. A key part of this role involves careful patient assessment and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure that nuclear medicine imaging aligns with patients' clinical histories and overall care needs.

Education and experience profile:

  • MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Can be a general practitioner, or still attending the M. Med. in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent.
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
