About the job Head of Orthopedic & Trauma Surgery Unit
The Head of Orthopedic & Trauma Surgery Unit is the surgeon who leads the multi-disciplinary activities of the orthopedic and trauma program. She/he has ultimate responsibility for the Unit in terms of quality of care, scope of services and cost-effectiveness. The Head of Unit has the authority to manage all aspects of trauma care, in collaboration with the Head of Emergency Room.
Education and Experience profile:
- A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
- A M.Med./PhD in Orthopedic or Trauma Surgery or its equivalent
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in a Trauma/Ortopedic Surgery Unit
- Has previous documented activities as team leaders in health sectors
- Has previous documented management experience in healthcare facilities
- Has surgical experience in advanced trauma/orthopedic surgery procedures and in mini-invasive approach.
- Has scientific research titles in surgical sectors
