About the job Medical Officer of Radiology Unit

The Medical Officer of Radiology Unit will be involved in the care of the patients within both the Radiology Sub-Unit and the Interventional Radiology Sub-Unit. Under the supervision of a senior doctor, they will gradually learn to perform conventional radiology, CT, MRI and ultrasound examination, to interpret them and to provide diagnostic therapeutic report. They will provide treatment or will manage patients using ultrasound, fluoroscopic and CT guidance, under the supervision of a Consultant, according to their own experience. They will perform guard shift with the cooperation of a Specialist Medical Officer / Consultant on-call. They will also take part to the interventional radiology procedures to gradually learn how to perform in autonomy. Participation in research activities and health data collection will be mandatory.


Education and Experience profile:

  • A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • Can be a general practitioner, or still attending the final stage of completion in M.Med. in Radiology or its equivalent
  • Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
